The Democratic Republic of the Congo is located in central Africa, within the Congo River basin, and boasts a short stretch of Atlantic coastline. As the continent’s second-largest country, it is home to around 250 ethnic groups, including the Kongo, Luba, and Mongo peoples. Its capital, Kinshasa, ranks among Africa’s largest cities. The tropical climate brings high temperatures and abundant rainfall throughout the year. The best time to visit the DRC is during the dry season, from June to August, when travel conditions are most favorable.
